GAIA
The Greek Goddess of Earth
The entity that is Earth and its
biological systems
GAIA’S CRY
A plea to the people of Earth
A plea for unity, understanding
and compassion
A plea for thought,
life sharing generosity and peace
A plea for respect for every other
and every other’s thoughts
A plea for respect and love
for our Earth and Nature
Within us lie the essential and irresistible beauty of music and the love for life, those precious to us, and the glorious jewel which is our Earth, set in a magnificent and incomprehensible Universe. The music on this album flows from this deep love; and from despair entwined with hope.
Forever begins; or has it always been?
The voyage, the beginning of life.
The essence remains but the dark expands;
all matter separating, disappearing, lost.
Harvey Washington is a Sydney based consultant cardiologist, whose life has always been immersed in music, of one form or another. Music has been a constant and essential love throughout his life and has strongly shaped his true spiritual and philosophical self. He is a sensitive pianist and composer, and whether playing or listening, his emotions are profoundly affected by wonderful music.
Gaia’s Cry has evolved over the past three years. It is music from within and from life experiences. It has also been influenced by the state of our world, love of nature and Earth’s creatures, and despair at the devastation and death inflicted by some humans on their fellow beings – and, at the same time, the disregard and abuse of Gaia, our magnificent Earth.
The music of Gaia’s Cry reflects our dreams and loves throughout life, and it is a plea from Gaia for compassion, understanding and peace.
The waves, the swell, the colours, the magic.
Moments to think, reminisce;
immersed in the fathoms of dreams.
